5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. – Philippians 2:5-11
Jesus did it for you. He lived for you. He died for you. You were on the very mind of God when He set the intention to purchase your salvation. He did not have to do anything for you but He chose to give you everything.
Consider Jesus…the One through whom everything that was made was made. God Himself. The King of glory. He chose to humble Himself and leave Heaven. He chose to be born as a baby in the dirt, in a dark cave in the middle east. He lived a life of poverty and suffering for you. He became poor so that we might become rich.
He lived a life that you never could, so that He could give you an eternity you do not deserve. He died a sinner’s death on the cross, so that you can have abundant life. He traded His righteousness for your condemnation. He gives you joy for the ashes of your life.
Therefore trust Him. Follow Him. Worship Him. He humbled Himself for you. Will you live for Him?
